About dogdoghk
Missy (left) and Muffin (right) are our mascots — two Pekingese who walk the streets of Hong Kong every weekend so we can tell, from experience, which terraces actually have water bowls and which ones just look welcoming on Google.
DogDogHK is a small, Hong Kong-made directory of restaurants, cafés and weekend spots across the SAR that genuinely welcome dogs. We start from the government's official Food & Environmental Hygiene Department (FEHD) register, then match every entry to OpenRice so you can see photos, opening hours and reviews before you go.
How we work
Hong Kong moves fast — places close, change ownership or quietly drop their dog policy between Monday and Saturday. Here's how we keep the list honest:
How we stay useful
- 01Every listing cites its FEHD licence and its OpenRice link. If we can't match it to OpenRice, we tell you — no fake photos.
- 02We unify addresses, de-dupe cross-listed branches and pick the right Chinese / English name by hand. Yau Ma Tei and Yau Ma Tei (West) are not the same place.
- 03Born in Central, walked in Stanley, Sai Kung and Tai O. We highlight district quirks — Stanley's seaside terraces, Sai Kung's weekend brunch crowd, Sheung Wan's hidden cafés.
- 04Soon: photo tips from readers, dog-menu notes (yes, some HK restaurants already have them), and verified community reviews.
Data source: FEHD's 允许狗隻進入的食物業處所 / 'dog-friendly food premises' list, refreshed weekly.
Got a spot to add? Know one that closed? Email hello@dogdoghk.com — Cantonese, Mandarin and English all welcome.
Listing on dogdoghk means a venue has self-registered with FEHD to permit dogs. House rules, size limits and outdoor-only policies still vary — please confirm with the venue before you go.
